How to use Digital Weighing Scale during Cashiering
Step 1: Understand the Letters
What the Keys Likely Do
- 1. Lettered Buttons (A+, B+, C+, D+)
- These may represent preset categories or memory groups (e.g., item groups or PLU banks) in systems where presets are organized alphabetically.
- Could also act as function modifiers—selecting different modes or operation layers.
- 2. Numeric Keys (0–9)
- Used for entering PLU codes, unit weights, prices, quantities, etc.
- Standard input keys across most weighing scales.
- 3. Zero
- Resets the scale's display to zero—useful for autozeroing or clearing residual weight.
- 4. Tare
- Records the container's weight and subtracts it from the measurement, showing the net weight.
- 5.PLU
- Stands for Price Look-Up or Product Look-Up. Allows recalling stored item information like unit price or description using a code.
- 6. CLR (Clear)
- Clears current input or parameter settings functions similarly to a back or reset button
- 7. SAVE
- Likely saves current data: PLU setup, price, weight info, or other settings into memory for later recall
- 8. FUN (Function)
- Switches between operational modes (e.g., weighing, counting, programming or parameter setting).
- 8. CASH, CHG, PRT
- These are typically used in retail/point-ofsale systems:
- CASH: Registering cash payment mode.
- CHG: Used to calculate or display change due.
- PRT: Sends print commands (e.g., print label, receipt).
